my grandmother passed away last sunday at the age of 103.
she lived a life full of determination, imagination, and
possibilities.
to me, she was the ideal grandmother who could magically
turn tree roots into sleeping lions, and puddles into the
ocean. she taught me to crochet and craft when i was little,
and she had an enormous penchant for sweets. towards her
later years, even if she wouldn't eat much regular food,
she'd always finish a whole piece of cake or bowl of ice
cream; my grandmother was a woman who knew her priorities!

my favorite & funniest memory
grannie sitting cross-legged on a bathmat, wearing a showercap
(turban), playing a toothbrush (flute) while humming a little
snake charmer ditty. 5 year old me, inside a pink hamper
(snake basket), popping out of the hamper and dancing around.
then we switch, and grannie does a really funny dance.
missing
her hiccupy laugh with shoulders going up and down •
closing her eyes and smiling serenely while i massage her
face
